I can drag and drop folders from ubuntu to my Mac back and forth and the screen resolution is correct and other VMware Tools features seem to be working. I edited fstab to include my gid and uid, which turns out to be 1000 in both cases. When I click on the shared folders icon on the lower right I see my shared folders but they are greyed out. Then turned on shared folders in the settings preferences and choose to share a number of folders including a Mac "shared folder" and /Users/Shared. Then installed VMware Tools from terminal. My environment is Fusion 2.0.1, Ubuntu 8.04.
I am not getting Shared Folders to work with Ubuntu.
